The Ruiterbos area is steeped in ancient history and new Khoisan (Bushman) paintings sites are constantly discovered. The road leading to Cranes Crest was the original ox wagon trail from the Cape to the interior, via Attaquas Kloof. The ox wagons followed the ancient elephant path used by the Khoisan. During the Anglo-Boer War the British built a blockhouse to defend the route through Attaquas Kloof.

Cranes Crest Guest Farm is situated off the R328 and Robinson Pass in Ruiterbos, at the start of South Africa's Garden Route. We are 45 minutes from Oudtshoorn and Mossel Bay, and one hour from George airport. An airport link can be provided.
